American Legion Post 525 Commander Bill Starr has initiated a community program which will give Blue Star banners to immediate family members of those serving in the military. Blue Star banners date back to World War I, and were hung in the windows of family members, to let everyone know they had a loved one in the service.  The American Legion Family has brought this practice back in recent years.  We are having a ceremony and complimentary lunch Sunday, 14 July 2024 at the Moose Lodge #660 (our Mount Prospect Veterans home), 602 N. Main St., Mt Prospect, IL 60056 for these military families.  If you know of any family that qualifies, please contact us with the name, branch of service, and rank of the family member currently serving in the military.
