Mount Prospect Welcomes Sailors 2023

On Thanksgiving Day the Veterans of Mount Prospect Illinois Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1337 & American Legion Post 525 with their close partners and supporters Mount Prospect Lions Club, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 660 as well as Mount Prospect Village. Hosted 50 Naval recruits in their last week of book camp unable to go home a special Thanksgiving. 

The Mayor of Mount Prospect Paul Hoefert, VFW State Commander Brett Nila, VFW Post 1337 Commander Les Durov and Event Chairman Casey Bachara welcomed the service members. Then they were treated to a long forgotten sweet table, phones calls to their loved ones, games, entertainment and a full Thanksgiving Dinner. After a long day the recruits were bussed back to Great Lakes Naval Station.
