Les Durov
Past Post Commander - Navy

 



 Les William Durov is a prominent member and leader within the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) organization, particularly with Mount Prospect VFW Post 1337. He served in the Navy from 1969 to 1973, including a deployment to the USS Midway CVA 41 and service in Vietnam. His military service earned him eligibility for the VFW. 

Durov has held various leadership roles within the VFW. He served as Post Commander of Post 1337 from 2018 to 2024, During his leadership, Post 1337 achieved the prestigious "All State" and "All American" honors six times, recognizing it as one of the best VFW posts nationally. He also served as District Surgeon from 2019 to 2022, Assistant Department Membership Director in 2021-2022, and Department Safety Director in 2021-2022. In recognition of his contributions, he received the National Aide-De-Camp in 2019-2020 and Special Aide-De-Camp in 2021-2022. 

In addition to his work with the VFW, Durov is also actively involved in other military organizations, including the American Legion and AMVETS. He is also a member of the Lions, Elks, and Moose Clubs. 

Durov resides in Des Plaines with his wife of 50 years, Vicki. They have three children and five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren
