Les Durov
Post Commander - Navy

Les earned his eligibility to the VFW, with service in the Navy from 1969-1973. He was deployed to the USS Midway CVA 41 and served in Vietnam. He worked the flight deck as an ABH. Other duties included the office yeoman and supply clerk. 


His achievements to the VFW are many. As a Legacy Gold Life member, he has served under many different hats. At the post level he has been the Post Commander from 2018-2021 as All State and All American Commander. He is now looking for his fourth year.  He served as the District Surgeon from 2019-2022. He served as the 2021-2022 Assistant Department Membership Director. He also served as the Department Safety Director 2021-2022. He has also received the National Aide-De-Camp 2019-2020 and Special Aide-De-Camp 2021-2022.

Les is an active member of other Military Organizations besides the VFW. He is an active member of the American Legion and Amvets. He also belongs to the Elks and Moose Clubs. 

He resides in Des Plaines with his wife of 45 years. Vicki and Les have three children and 5 grandchildren.
